The LIENSs is a research laboratory located on the coast. We chose first to acquire a functional drone (the “vector”) with a reliable navigation system and we are focusing our efforts on scientific added value, whether it is the integration of off the shelf sensors (such as the multi-beam sounder or the multi-parameter probe), the development of innovative systems designed specifically for the PAMELi project thanks to the collaboration with the DT-INSU, or finally the development of an IT architecture dedicated for the validation, archiving and dissemination of acquired data.

The marine drone industry is a rapidly evolving industry. The vector (“support vessel”) chosen for the PAMELi project was selected following a public procurement procedure. The catamaran C-CAT3 from ASV (now L3Harris ASV) was selected.
