PAMELi onboard instrumentation

PAMELi supports many instruments. It is equipped with a navigation PC , dedicated to safety and piloting, and a scientific PC to manage the acquisition of scientific data (sensor piloting, data recovery, backup, etc.). The drone is also equipped with “standard” sensors (meteorological station, GNSS navigation system, single-beam sounder, attitude station) which are used for navigation and operate routinely.

Others scientific sensors (multi-parameter probe, geodetic GNSS, multi-beam sounder, ...) are more specific but also available on the market. The platform also supports instruments developed specifically for PAMELi as part of a collaboration with the DT-INSU in Brest (Mini-Cyclopée, winch for the production of vertical profiles of CTD (Conductivity Temperature Depth), water sampling system, ...).

For each mission, the sensors installed on PAMELi depend on the scientific objectives and constraints related to the place or the available energy.
